CEZ reported a 10% increase in adjusted net profit to CZK 18.1bn in the first half, while revenue (down 5% to CZK 74.75bn) and EBITDA (down 20% to CZK 59bn) suffered from lower power prices. Operating cash flow rose 55% to CZK 26bn and the company upgraded its 2026 forecasts for EBITDA (CZK 109–114bn) and adjusted net profit (CZK 31–35bn). CEZ is advancing the spin-off of ČEZ Energy; at the same time, rising net debt (about CZK 200bn), margin pressure in coal and volatile power prices weigh on the outlook. The Czech Republic plans, according to CEZ, to run the four WWER-440/213 reactor units in Dukovany for up to 80 years, which would mean operation until 2065–2067. CEZ CEO Daniel Benes describes the condition of the Soviet-era reactor units as "excellent" and views the lifetime extension as a complement, not a substitute, for new construction.
