Chevron positioned to benefit from Iraq's plan to more than double oil output

Chevron has signed memorandums of understanding for West Qurna 2 and Nassiriya and could take operating control of West Qurna 2, which currently produces about 460,000 bpd. Iraq aims to raise West Qurna 2 to roughly 750,000–800,000 bpd and target 600,000 bpd at Nassiriya, with West Qurna 2 holding an estimated 13 billion barrels of recoverable resources.
