At the Six Five Summit, Coherent said AI workloads will in future be distributed across multiple data centers, requiring a new “scale-across” networking approach with very high bandwidth and high energy efficiency. Coherent has started sampling 300-mm silicon carbide substrates with partners in the AI semiconductor industry. The substrates are intended to improve thermal management of AI and high-performance computing processors and to increase heat dissipation by up to 25% compared with current solutions.
