Comet reports strong H1 2026 and raises 2026 forecast
Comet increased net sales in the first half of 2026 by 5.6% to CHF 239.8m (currency-adjusted +12.7%) and achieved an EBITDA margin of 13.1% with EBITDA of CHF 31.4m. Book-to-bill was 1.48, demand—particularly in AI infrastructure and advanced packaging—increased, while free cash flow of CHF -19.3m was weighed down by investments in Penang. For 2026, Comet now expects revenue of CHF 540–570m and an EBITDA margin of 14.0%–17.0%, with one-off costs for the production ramp-up in Penang expected to reduce the margin by around 3 percentage points. » More on de.investing.com
Comet: appellate court orders new trial against XP Power
An appellate court in San Francisco has decided to repeat the original trade-secret trial between Comet and XP Power over a question of the burden of proof. In the first 2022 proceeding, jurors had ruled in favor of Comet and awarded a preliminary injunction and damages. Comet says it is disappointed but emphasizes that the court did not call into question the importance of its trade secrets or the seriousness of XP Power’s misappropriation, and expects no material impact on operations or its financial position. » More on finanzen.net
Comet rises 10% after double upgrade by Bank of America
Bank of America raised its rating on Comet from “Underperform” to “Buy” and increased the price target by 81% to CHF 518. The re-rating is justified by an expected surge in demand from greenfield investments in NAND fabs, from which Comet is expected to benefit disproportionately due to its strong customer ties with Lam Research. BofA sharply raised its revenue and EBITDA estimates and sees significant margin and earnings growth through 2028, which briefly propelled the share price by up to 10%. » More on de.investing.com
