Core Lithium: restart of Finniss and Axiant IPO drive stock higher
Core Lithium’s share price rose 7.9% after progress on restarting the Finniss lithium project: mining work at the Grants open pit is already underway, and a contract for underground development at BP33 has been awarded. The company secured a financing package of more than A$300m and is targeting first spodumene production for Q4 2026. In addition, Core Lithium plans to spin off its gold exploration into a new company, Axiant Resources, with an IPO planned for July–August 2026, positioning Core as a focused lithium producer. A board reshuffle is said to strengthen governance ahead of the operational ramp-up, while the share movement is largely company-specific. » More on de.investing.com

Core Lithium shares rose 10.4% to A$0.265 after the company announced the demerger of certain exploration projects into a new gold exploration company called Axiant Resources, whose IPO with a prospectus is planned with the ASIC in the third quarter. The transaction prompted a board change: Malcolm McComas will become chair of Core Lithium, while Greg English will chair Axiant. In addition, Core signed a binding agreement with Glencore to sell 25,000 tonnes of fine-grained lithium; this is the second sale from Finniss stockpiles after an earlier sale of 20,000 tonnes. The company reports having generated around $28.5 million in 2026 from stockpile sales, bolstering liquidity and supporting expansion of operations. » More on de.investing.com
