Curtiss-Wright raises full-year guidance after margin expansion and stronger orders

Curtiss-Wright reported Q2 sales of $924 million (+5% y/y), operating income up 12%, margins +110 bps and free cash flow up 37% to $160 million, and management raised full-year guidance. Bookings improved (Q2 orders +8%, YTD orders +12%) with Defense Electronics driving a large portion of the order growth and Aerospace & Industrial showing strong margin expansion. Management warned of near-term lumpiness: Defense Electronics and Naval & Power face timing and mix pressures, Q3 margins are expected to be flat and capex is guided ~30% higher, while an anticipated AP1000 nuclear order is a key upside catalyst. Curtiss Wright invests $80 million in Cheswick site expansion

Curtiss Wright announces a multi-year $80 million investment to expand its plant in Cheswick, Pennsylvania. On the 118-hectare site two new buildings will be constructed to add manufacturing and test capacity for maritime defense and commercial nuclear energy; the project will begin in 2025. The expansion combines company funds, government grants and U.S. Department of Defense funding, will create around 150 new jobs and secures more than 860 existing positions.
