D-Wave records strong booking increase, revenue lags expectations

D-Wave reports H1 bookings rising from $2.9m to $35.5m, while H1 revenue fell to $5.9m and Q2 revenue of $3.1m missed consensus. RPO climbed to $40.7m; management expects to realize 57% of that as revenue within twelve months. Operationally the company remains loss-making: adjusted EBITDA loss and operating expenses increased markedly, even as QCaaS subscriptions and commercial deployments grow. D-Wave receives up to CAD 300,000 grant to develop Advantage2 annealing software

The National Research Council of Canada is supporting D-Wave with up to CAD 300,000 to further develop software and graph-minor-embedding algorithms for the Zephyr topology of Advantage2 systems. The results are to be incorporated into the open-source Ocean kit and will enable customers to solve larger and more complex optimization problems commercially.
