Repsol reaches record high thanks to high oil prices

Repsol's stock hit another record high as persistently high oil prices support the Spanish energy group. Brent crude fell briefly but remains at elevated levels after the Saudi east–west pipeline is expected to resume operations soon. Analysts warn, however, of ongoing geopolitical risks in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea that are likely to continue supporting prices. Brent crude climbed about 3% to roughly $107.60 a barrel after a foreign ministers’ meeting on the Strait of Hormuz, planned for Salalah, was postponed and Saudi Arabia had to shut the east–west pipeline as a precaution following drone attacks. Supply uncertainty and the risk of blockades in strategic seas are pushing prices higher; Brent is up almost 80% year-to-date. Repsol benefits from oil and gas rally, profit nearly doubled

Repsol reports a net profit of €2.7bn for H1 2026 and benefited strongly from higher oil and gas prices, despite holding no assets in the Middle East. Production was flat year-on-year; key producing regions are the US (around 37% of output), the UK, Brazil and Venezuela, and production at the Pikka project in Alaska began in May.
