    E.W. Scripps has named Jen Carfley, effective immediately, head of growth for the small- and medium-sized business segment and for direct-response advertising. In the newly created role she will connect advertisers to Scripps video inventory across local, national, linear and connected-TV platforms. Starting next year, Carfley will lead direct-response activities for the ION and Bounce networks, while Marathon Ventures will continue to handle Grit, ION Mystery, ION Plus and Laff.
