RTL Group expands pay-TV football offering with Sky and brings DFB-Pokal to RTL+

After the Sky takeover, RTL Group is expanding its offering for the 2026/27 season: Sky will additionally broadcast up to ten Europa League and Conference League matches live, while RTL+ will for the first time carry all 63 DFB-Pokal live matches and use Sky’s full live feed. Three DFB-Pokal matches will be shown free-to-air on RTL. The takeover of Sky Deutschland by RTL was completed on June 1; the accounts show initial effects, but the main work of integration is still to come. RTL confirms 2026 revenue forecast after Sky takeover, Ebita target remains unchanged

Despite a continued slump in TV advertising, RTL reports tailwinds from its streaming business, which is generating significant profits and increasing streaming revenues and subscribers. Following the acquisition of Sky Deutschland, the revenue forecast for 2026 was raised to about €7.1–7.2 billion, while the adjusted operating result (Ebita) is still pegged at €725 million. The group now expects the streaming business to contribute roughly €100 million for the full year; Sky’s short-term contribution for the year is likely to be practically zero.
