FinWise Bancorp acquires Tallied's credit card platform
FinWise Bancorp has acquired Tallied’s technology platform and related assets and will now control the entire technology stack for its card business from application to customer service. The bank will retain fees, interchange and interest income from programs on the Tallied platform; the acquisition was financed with cash and is not expected to materially affect capital ratios. FinWise expects about $4 million of integration costs next year, has taken on Tallied’s technology and operations team, and is converting roughly $50 million of previously credit-enhanced credit card balances onto its standard balance sheet; the prior projection for credit-secured balances as of the end of 2026 is therefore no longer applicable. » More on de.investing.com
FinWise Bancorp approves share repurchase program for up to 685,000 shares
The board of directors of FinWise Bancorp approved a repurchase program for up to 685,000 shares (about 5% of outstanding shares as of May 19) through May 31, 2028. Repurchases may be made on the open market, in privately negotiated transactions or under 10b5-1 plans and will be funded with available cash; the company may modify or terminate the program at any time. CEO Jim Noone called the approval a sign of strong capital strength; at the end of the first quarter the bank reported a leverage ratio of 16.8% and a tangible book value of $14.34 per share. The stock is trading around $12.82 near its 52‑week low, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 11.83 and a PEG of 0.6, and is considered undervalued by InvestingPro. » More on de.investing.com
