  • Fortescue reports record 2026 shipments and solid profitability

Fortescue delivered a record 201.3 million tonnes of iron ore in fiscal 2026. Revenue rose 9% to AUD 17.0 billion, adjusted EBITDA was AUD 8.6 billion and free cash flow climbed 25% to AUD 3.2 billion; the annual dividend is AUD 1.08 per share. For 2027 the company expects shipments of 197–207 million tonnes, plans capex of AUD 2.3–2.7 billion and is advancing a AUD 6.2 billion decarbonization program; the stock reacted only modestly and is trading near its yearly low. » More on de.investing.com

During that time he completed a PhD in marine ecology, which reshaped his environmental outlook and influenced Fortescue's strategy. He has since pushed the company toward a 'real zero' goal to decarbonise operations and lower energy costs. » More on finance.yahoo.com

Both batches are low-grade iron ore, and the move is part of Beijing's efforts to consolidate control over iron ore imports. UBS confirmed its "Neutral" rating and only slightly raised the price target to A$19.70; analysts remain broadly cautious. China's interventions and low expected iron ore prices weighed on shares of Fortescue and rivals such as BHP and Rio Tinto across the sector. » More on de.investing.com
