Fresenius Medical Care beats Q2 earnings forecast, stock falls after weak US volume

Fresenius Medical Care reported adjusted Q2 earnings of $0.9252 per share (expectation $0.62) on revenue of $5.55 billion, with profit well above expectations while revenue met forecasts. On a currency-adjusted basis, operating income rose 23% and the operating margin expanded by 180 basis points, and operating cash flow increased. Treatment volumes in the US weakened to -0.9%; management attributed this to internal shortcomings in converting referrals into patients and announced organizational measures. The stock fell about 7.3% in premarket trading as investors placed greater weight on the volume risk; the 2026 outlook remained largely unchanged.
