Gray Media is acquiring six local TV stations in Toledo, Jackson, Wilmington, Columbus (GA), Wichita Falls and Lake Charles for $50 million. In the first phase of the deal Gray paid $40 million, financed by a private placement of $70 million in senior secured notes, which increases total debt to $5.8 billion. The second portion of the purchase is expected to close in Q4 2026 in cash, subject to regulatory approvals; Gray expects the transaction will not increase consolidated net leverage. Gray Media has entered an agreement to acquire ABC station WBBJ 7 in Jackson, Tennessee, from Bahakel Communications; closing is expected in the first quarter of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals. The local TV station complements Gray’s presence in neighboring markets such as Nashville, Memphis, Huntsville and Paducah and is expected to immediately increase free cash flow; the purchase will be funded in cash.
