  • DAX starts weak: Infineon, Siemens Energy and Aixtron under pressure, SAP and Bayer gain

Rising oil prices and renewed debates about AI risks weighed on markets; the DAX briefly fell to its lowest level since July and closed down 0.5 percent at 25,440.81 points. Growth-dependent stocks came under selling pressure—Infineon, Siemens Energy and Hochtief lost up to 9.4 percent, and semiconductor names like Aixtron fell by more than 11 percent in places. Software stocks recovered, however: SAP led the DAX with a 5.1 percent gain, and Bayer also rose ahead of an upcoming hearing in Missouri on the Roundup settlement. » More on deraktionaer.de

  • Infineon falls sharply after debate on AI safety

Infineon shares fell by more than eight percent on Monday, weighed down by new safety debates around artificial intelligence that put tech stocks worldwide under pressure. Calls for regulation and appeals from industry figures to slow the development of powerful models increased investor uncertainty. Infineon tested the 200-day line on the chart, marking lows not seen since April, while other chip and AI stocks also suffered heavy losses. » More on finanzen.net
