Infineon sells NOR‑Flash and F‑RAM unit to Winbond for $1.12 billion

Infineon has agreed to sell its NOR‑Flash and F‑RAM product lines to Winbond for $1.12 billion. Around 350 employees, mostly in the US, are expected to transfer to Winbond; closing is planned for the second half of 2027 and is subject to regulatory approvals. Infineon will retain major parts of the Cypress acquisition as well as its core microcontroller business and its focus on new memory technologies such as MRAM and RRAM. » More on heise.de
