  • Joby: autonomous aircraft crosses the US from west to east

A modified Cessna from Joby autonomously flew a 3,199-mile (about 5,148 km) route from the company headquarters in California to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, including taxiing, takeoff, navigation and landing, without the onboard safety person having to intervene. The aircraft was monitored from up to 3,700 km away during the flight and, the company says, integrated smoothly into busy airspace and routed around bad weather. Joby views the flight as proof of a scalable technology for autonomous air logistics and for connecting remote regions. » More on heise.de

  • Joby Aviation down 54% this year but could begin selling eVTOL tickets in 2027

Joby Aviation's stock has fallen over half this year amid cash burn, dilution, rising operating costs, FAA type-certification uncertainty and a high valuation. The company plans pre-certification flights across 11 states in 2026 that could progress to carrying paying passengers as early as 2027. Recent acquisitions (Blade Air Mobility and planned Resonant Sciences) and pre-certification revenue boost near-term sales, and analysts expect Joby to approach roughly $500 million in revenue by 2028. The story highlights significant upside if certification and operations succeed, but also substantial execution and financing risks for investors. » More on finance.yahoo.com

  • Joby Aviation targets first commercial EIPP flights as analysts see 87% upside

Analysts set a 24/7 Wall St. 12-month price target of $11.37 for Joby Aviation, implying about 87% upside from current levels, while noting medium confidence given the pre-revenue eVTOL risk. Joby reported Q2 revenue of $38.64M, raised FY26 revenue guidance to $115M–$125M, and CEO JoeBen Bevirt said first commercial EIPP flights in Dallas–Fort Worth are targeted this month. Certification momentum (Stage 4 probability rising) and partnerships support the bull case, but heavy cash burn, guided H2 2026 cash use and dilution risk keep the bear case valid with a model price around $8.52. » More on finance.yahoo.com
