  • GUSS Automation equips autonomous orchard machinery with Ouster Lidar Rev8 OS0

GUSS Automation, a subsidiary of John Deere, is integrating Ouster’s digital Rev8 OS0 lidar sensors into the next generation of its autonomous spraying vehicles for orchards and vineyards. The sensors provide 3D point-cloud data and an ultra-wide field of view to improve navigation and obstacle detection in dusty, foggy and densely vegetated environments. The integration allows a single operator to monitor up to eight machines and is intended to enable precise autonomous operations in high-value perennial crops. The vehicles will be sold through John Deere’s dealer network. » More on de.investing.com

  • Ouster reports strong revenue growth but remains unprofitable and plans switch to Rev8

Ouster increased revenue in the second quarter by 56% to $54.6 million and sold more than 9,000 LiDAR and 8,000 camera systems, supported by the acquisition of Stereolabs. Adjusted gross margin improved to 53%, but excluding one‑off effects it was in the high 30% range; adjusted EBITDA remained negative with a loss of $4.5 million and operating cash flow showed an outflow. CEO Angus Pacala carried out capital raises to strengthen liquidity and reaffirmed long‑term targets: annual revenue growth of 30–50%, gross margin of 35–40% and adjusted EBITDA break‑even by the end of 2027. For Q3 management expects $54.5–57.5 million in revenue, plans increased production of Rev8 LiDARs and sees potential in the compact ZED X Nano stereo camera, but concedes higher operating costs and significant valuation risks. » More on finanzen.net

  • Ouster drives platform strategy forward and reports strong demand for Rev8

At the Oppenheimer conference, Ouster announced a transformation from a pure lidar supplier to a platform combining lidar, cameras, compute and software, supported by the acquisition of Stereolabs. The company has recorded 14 consecutive quarters of revenue growth, now generates more than $55 million in quarterly revenue and holds over $450 million in cash. The Rev8 sensor, with native RGB capability, has already won orders worth millions; series production is slated to ramp up in September 2024. Ouster continues to report low single‑digit million dollar EBITDA losses, is investing heavily in product development, manufacturing and supply‑chain resilience, and is diversifying across automotive, industrial, smart infrastructure and robotics. » More on de.investing.com
