  • PacBio drives genetic-testing trend with EpiSign updates and TychoBio collaboration

Pacific Biosciences impresses with precise long-read DNA analysis; new EpiSign interpretations and a collaboration with TychoBio (data from >10,000 samples) aim to advance AI-supported RNA therapies and stimulate demand. At the same time, Q2 2026 revenue fell 2% to $39.0 million and adjusted loss per share worsened slightly, meaning the operational benefits of the technological advances still need to prove themselves in revenue growth and improved profitability. » More on finanzen.net

  • PacBio: clinical growth offsets short-term headwinds

PacBio reported Q2 revenue of $39 million and saw clinical consumables growth of 67%, but cut its full-year guidance to about $160 million due to delayed rollout of SPRQ‑Nx chemistry and higher compute costs. The company announced a CEO transition to Mark Van Oene, workforce reductions and cost cuts to boost efficiency and realize annual savings of $15–20 million. Large initiatives like the 100,000-sample contract with GeneDx and demand for long-read sequencing support the long-term outlook; the target is positive cash flow in 2028, assuming the next instrument generation launches successfully, compute costs decline and customers migrate to SPRQ‑Nx. » More on de.investing.com

  • PacBio names Mark Van Oene CEO with immediate effect

PacBio’s board of directors has appointed Mark Van Oene, previously chief operating officer, as president and chief executive officer and added him to the board. He succeeds Christian Henry, who resigned after six years as CEO and will remain with the company as an advisor through the end of 2026. Van Oene, who joined PacBio in 2021, is expected to drive commercialization, product development, the expansion of HiFi sequencing, and the strengthening of the clinical and diagnostic markets. » More on de.investing.com
