Prudential posts strong growth in first half of 2026 and raises interim dividend
Prudential reports significant operational momentum in H1 2026: earnings per share rose 17%, new business profit increased 8% and net generation of operational free surplus grew 41%. New business margin widened to 40% and the first interim dividend was increased by 15%; management reaffirms its target of double-digit growth for the full year. Prudential reduces stake in ICICI Prudential AMC to 32.59%
Prudential sold 9,885,169 shares of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company at 3,065 INR per share, reducing its holding by 2 percentage points to 32.59%. The disposal generated around 30 billion INR (approximately 0.3 billion USD) before costs and taxes; the group reports a profit of about 0.3 billion USD. The sale was conducted via bookbuilding to help ICICI Prudential meet the Indian minimum public float rule (15% within five years). Prudential pays interim dividend of 8.88 US cents per share
Prudential announces a first interim dividend for 2026 of 8.88 US cents per ordinary share. Payment will be made in GBP for UK and in HKD for Hong Kong shareholders, and in US dollars for ADR holders; election to receive USD available until 2 October 2026.
