Purple Biotech reports that IM1240 was effective in preclinical tests at the Icahn School of Medicine in all seven patient-derived tumor samples tested, including therapy‑resistant cases of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and muscle‑invasive bladder carcinoma. The NKG2A component enhanced anti-tumor activity; a mutated NKG2A domain resulted in loss of apoptotic activity. Tissue analyses showed induction of tertiary lymphoid structures, an increase in CD8+ and NK cells, and a decrease in regulatory T cells and tumor cells.
