Safe Bulkers receives approval for secondary listing on Euronext Athens
The Greek Capital Market Commission has approved the prospectus for the secondary listing of Safe Bulkers common shares on the main market of Euronext Athens. The approval covers all 101,826,580 common shares; no new shares will be issued. Safe Bulkers orders four Japanese-built bulk carriers
Safe Bulkers has signed agreements to acquire four newbuilds from Japan: three Kamsarmax vessels (82,000 dwt) with deliveries in 2029 (two in H1, one in Q3) and one Capesize vessel (182,000 dwt) for H2 2029. The three Kamsarmax units will be financed from cash; the Capesize will be acquired via a finance lease under a ten-year bareboat charter with purchase options after five years. All ships comply with IMO EEDI Phase 3 standards and NOx Tier III regulations. Following the agreements, the orderbook rises to 11 newbuilds, including two methanol dual-fuel vessels; the company reports strong liquidity and a gross profit margin of 57.9%.
