SCOR: strong Q2 figures and low combined ratio drive stock

SCOR reported a net profit of €171m in the second quarter and €397m for the first half. SCOR records 24% profit decline in second quarter

The reinsurer SCOR reports a 24% decline in net profit for Q2 to €171m and a 5.1% drop in insurance revenue year-on-year. Weaker results came from the life & health and property & casualty segments, although the combined ratio in property & casualty improved to 79.5%. SCOR reports better Q1 figures despite strong premium pressure on renewals

SCOR has published first-quarter results that beat analyst expectations: the non-life combined ratio was 80.2% and the underwriting result exceeded estimates by 11.7%. Net profit beat expectations by 11.2% and return on equity rose to 21.7%.
