Sega’s Golden Axe becomes animated series on Paramount+

Sega’s classic hack-and-slash Golden Axe has been adapted into an animated fantasy action-comedy that premieres on Paramount+ on September 16, 2026. The 10-episode series, created by Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler, features Matthew Rhys, Danny Pudi, Lisa Gilroy and Liam McIntyre and is billed as a humorous homage to the games.
