Solid Power beats Q2 EPS expectation, stock reacts with volatility
Solid Power reported Q2 2026 EPS of -$0.11 versus an expected -$0.12 and remained unprofitable. Solid Power appoints BMW executive Uwe Breitweg to the board of directors
Solid Power has appointed Uwe Breitweg, vice president for powertrain, emissions and battery strategy at BMW Group, to its board of directors with immediate effect; he replaces Dr. Feurer. The appointment was made under the nomination rights of BMW Holding B.V. and is intended to bolster Solid Power’s progress on solid-state batteries and its collaboration with automotive and cell-manufacturing partners. Solid Power falls after registered direct placement of over $130 million
Solid Power’s stock dropped about 6.6% after announcing a registered direct placement expected to raise roughly $130 million gross. The offering includes 17 million common shares, pre-funded warrants for 5.8 million shares and regular warrants for up to 45.6 million shares, priced at $5.70 and $5.699 per pre-funded warrant; the regular warrants are exercisable at $7.25 and expire in seven years. Solid Power said it will use the proceeds for working capital and solid-state battery development; as of Dec. 31, 2025, cash stood at about $336.5 million and outstanding common shares at roughly 201.2 million.
