Sompo Holdings posts record profit in 2025, earnings per share fall short of forecast
Sompo Holdings reported an adjusted group profit of ¥535.2 billion for fiscal 2025 (+65%), surpassing its 2030 target five years early. Revenue was ¥1.39 trillion, above expectations, while earnings per share of ¥136.63 missed the forecast of ¥170.44. The stock rose 1.94% on the results. Sompo receives regulatory approvals for takeover of Aspen Insurance
Aspen Insurance announced that all required antitrust and insurance regulatory approvals for the announced acquisition by a wholly owned subsidiary of Sompo are in place. The transaction involves the purchase of 100% of Aspen’s issued Class A common stock. Sompo Holdings raises full-year forecast after record first-half profit
Sompo Holdings reports record results for H1 2025: adjusted consolidated profit ¥247.4 billion and consolidated profit ¥360.4 billion. Management raises the forecast for adjusted consolidated profit to ¥440.0 billion, increases shareholder returns to around ¥250.0 billion, confirms a dividend of ¥150 and plans share buybacks of ¥115.0 billion.
