At SUSEcon, following its acquisition of Losant, SUSE unveiled Industrial Edge, an IoT platform for industries such as transportation, building technology, shipping and manufacturing. The solution builds on Losant’s architecture with components like Nginx, MQTT/RabbitMQ, MongoDB, TimescaleDB and Redis; SUSE provides the underlying infrastructure and brings experience in streamlining edge applications. In the long term, SUSE plans to integrate AI capabilities and agent-based automation into Industrial Edge to enable workflows, analytics and chatbot-assisted metrics. » More on heise.de

SUSE, Elemento Cloud, Cubbit and StorPool are rolling out a “Sovereign Disaster Recovery Pack” for EU customers to ensure continued operations in the event of failure or shutdown of major US cloud providers. The solution leverages components of the European cloud IT stack and standardized, software-defined storage solutions to address exit and kill‑switch scenarios.
