TMX Group bets on M&A, data and AI to accelerate growth

TMX Group buys Cboe businesses in Canada and Australia for $300m

TMX Group is acquiring Cboe’s Cboe Canada and Cboe Australia units for $300m, strengthening its presence in the commodities sector. The acquired unit generated about $87m in revenue and an adjusted EBITDA of roughly $25m in 2025. TMX is financing the purchase with cash and debt and intends to use the business to establish a foothold in Australia and expand its focus on derivatives, digital assets and prediction markets.
