Main Street Capital pays monthly dividend with regular yield around 5.6% and supplemental payouts lift yield to about 7.7%
Main Street Capital, a large BDC with roughly $9 billion under management, pays a regular monthly dividend of $0.265 per share (about a 5.6% yield at recent prices) and has been issuing supplemental dividends that annualize to roughly a 7.7% yield. In Q2 it reported $149.6 million in total investment income, $90.3 million in net investment income and distributable net investment income of $1.04 per share, while NAV rose to $33.92. Risks include interest-rate sensitivity from floating-rate loans and potential credit deterioration among portfolio companies, but Main Street has not cut its regular monthly payout since 2007. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Main Street Capital's dividend likely to keep rising over next five years
Main Street Capital has maintained and grown its monthly dividend since its 2007 IPO, supported by rising distributable net investment income (DNII) and a higher net asset value per share. DNII per share rose from $2.81 in 2021 to $4.21 in 2025, and while DNII dipped slightly in early 2026, the firm's high coverage ratio and portfolio diversification reduce payout risk. A favorable "Goldilocks" interest-rate environment would boost net interest income, so Main Street's dividend is expected to continue increasing over the next five years. » More on finance.yahoo.com
