Deutsche Bank launches custody service for digital assets in Europe

Deutsche Bank plans to offer a custody service for digital assets to corporate and institutional clients in Europe later this year, subject to regulatory approvals. At launch it will support Bitcoin, Ether and selected stablecoins; tokenized financial instruments are to follow. The bank will manage wallets and private keys, use hardware-backed key generation, multi-signature approvals and separate warm- and cold-storage environments, and rely on selected external technology partners. Deutsche Bank pays costly settlement in Santorini dispute

Shortly before the trial, Deutsche Bank and former investment banker Dario Schiraldi reached an out-of-court settlement. Schiraldi had originally demanded around €152 million for lost salary and bonuses; the amount of the agreement was not disclosed. Deutsche Bank lags in banking sector after US weakness

European bank stocks came under pressure, with the sector index falling 1.3 percent. Deutsche Bank fell most in the DAX, down 3.7 percent, extending a recent correction. Heavy losses at US investment banks (Goldman, JPMorgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley) weighed on sentiment after BofA chief Moynihan flagged lower trading revenues.
