  • Valterra Platinum boosts half‑year profit on boom in platinum metals

    Valterra Platinum reported a strong rise in profit and cash flow for H1 2026: revenue climbed 93% to 82 billion ZAR, EBITDA reached 33.4 billion ZAR and adjusted earnings were 21.5 billion ZAR (82 ZAR per share). Free cash flow was 26 billion ZAR, net cash rose to 24 billion ZAR and the board approved an interim dividend of 57 ZAR per share. Production and refining recoveries increased (refined production +25% to 1.7 million ounces) and cost metrics improved; at the same time safety (four fatalities) and commodity price volatility remain material risks.     Valterra Platinum announces a cash distribution of 15.1 billion rand (57.00 rand per share), approved by the board on 27 July. The payment comprises a base dividend of 8.6 billion rand (32.50 rand per share) and an additional distribution of 6.5 billion rand (24.50 rand per share) and will be paid from retained earnings. The last day to trade to qualify for the dividend in South Africa is 18 August with payment on 24 August; for the London register the last trade date is 19 August with payment on 8 September.
