Woolworth: personnel reshuffle with Tedi – CEO position vacant since April
Owner Stefan Heinig is moving executives between his discount chains Woolworth and Tedi; several management changes take effect on October 1, including Mike Adams’s move to Tedi and the appointment of Peter Eszényi to Woolworth. HR leadership will be taken over by Patrizia Aundrup from Tedi. Woolworths boosts profit and raises dividend after strong annual results
Woolworths reports adjusted net profit up 15.4% to A$1.599bn and adjusted EBIT up 12.7% to A$3.105bn, on group revenue of A$71.5bn. EBIT was around 2% above analyst consensus. The company will pay a fully franked final dividend of 52 cents per share (+15.6%). Growth drivers were the Australian food business (sales +4.6%, H2 momentum 5.7%), the W Living division, which turned to a A$116m profit, and the e‑commerce segment. » More on de.investing.com
Woolworth recalls toys nationwide over suspected asbestos
Woolworth is recalling four toy products, including “Stretchy Sand” (Watermelon, Blueberry), “Stretchmaus 12 Zentimeter” and “Stretchy Soldat”, because the processed sand may be contaminated with asbestos. The recall applies to all packages and all federal states; customers will be refunded the purchase price even without a receipt. Initial asbestos findings in play sand were reported in Australia and New Zealand, investigations in Europe have also provided indications, and the health risks for children have not yet been conclusively determined. » More on finanzen.net
