Zijin Gold pays C$5.5 billion in cash for Allied Gold
Zijin Gold has agreed to acquire Allied Gold for C$44 per share in an all-cash transaction, totaling about C$5.5 billion. The offer represents a 27% premium to the volume-weighted 30-day average price as of January 23, 2026, and is expected to close at the end of April 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Allied Gold operates mines and projects in the Ivory Coast, Mali and Ethiopia, recently generated revenue of $1.07 billion with strong growth but was not profitable over the past twelve months.
