KALA BIO shares jumped 28.3% in premarket trading after a $6 million securities investment was agreed with private investor David E. Lazar. $1.8 million was paid at the first closing, Lazar was immediately named CEO and chairman, while Todd Bazemore remains on the board. KALA plans to use the funds to continue evaluating and developing its therapy candidates and to explore strategic options; a second closing of $4.2 million is conditional on shareholder approval in Q1 2026.
