Nike poised for a short-term trend reversal despite weak outlook
Nike reported a 4% revenue decline in Q1 2027 to USD 11.2 billion and earnings per share of USD 0.48, which beat expectations but was below last year. Gross margin improved slightly, but the outlook is a drag: Nike expects 2027 revenue to decline in the high single-digit percentage range and adjusted EPS of USD 1.15–1.35 versus previously about USD 1.67. Regionally, there are marked weaknesses in Greater China (-26% currency‑adjusted) and EMEA (-5%), while North America grew modestly (+2%). Analysts are cutting estimates, with Bank of America especially pessimistic; chart‑technically the stock shows initial signs of recovery, and a sustained breakout above USD 40.18 would materially improve the picture. » Más en deraktionaer.de
Nike bets on India with new Bengaluru campus as China sales slide
Nike will open a global campus in Bengaluru as a long-term growth investment to expand talent, local capabilities and consumer insights across Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse. The move comes amid a multi-year slump and a 26% revenue decline in Greater China, prompting cost cuts and a Pace strategy targeting about $2.5 billion in savings through fiscal 2031. Executives say India offers substantial long-term retail and e-commerce growth, but analysts warn success depends on product localization, pricing and stronger direct-to-consumer execution while Nike works to revive China simultaneously. » Más en cnbc.com
Nike stuck in crisis despite kit deal with the DFB and launches cost‑cutting program
Nike continues to be in a deep crisis: the company forecasts revenue declines in the high single-digit percentage range for the current fiscal year, has announced further job cuts and is launching the "Pace" program with investment reductions and additional cost savings. CEO Elliott Hill, in office for nearly two years, is trying to stabilise the brand by focusing more on performance products, retailer partnerships and limiting Jordan shoe supply, but so far with limited success. Analysts have lowered targets, the stock is losing momentum and Nike has been dropped from key indices; at the same time the company secured the kit contract for the German national team through 2034, but must make up market share in China and in the lifestyle segment. » Más en faz.net
