The Czech Republic plans, according to CEZ, to run the four WWER-440/213 reactor units in Dukovany for up to 80 years, which would mean operation until 2065–2067. CEZ CEO Daniel Benes describes the condition of the Soviet-era reactor units as "excellent" and views the lifetime extension as a complement, not a substitute, for new construction.
