Kuaishou share falls to near four-year low after disappointing Q2 results

Kuaishou share plunged 10.1% to HK$34 on Thursday, reaching almost a four-year low. Revenue grew in Q2 by only 1.4% to RMB 35.5 billion, while gross profit fell from RMB 19.5 billion to RMB 18.3 billion, stoking concerns about margins as the company is investing heavily in AI. Kuaishou stock falls 4% despite stable quarterly profit

Kuaishou reported Q2 revenue growth of 1.4% to 35.5 billion RMB and an adjusted net profit of 3.9 billion RMB. AI unit Kling raised revenue to over 850 million RMB (up more than 200%) and the company ended the quarter with 121.3 billion RMB in cash. Management warned of pressure in the second half from weaker demand and higher AI investments but said it will aim for positive free cash flow. Kuaishou rises after UBS inclusion in focus list and its own buyback program

Kuaishou shares jumped 5.6% after being added to UBS’s “China Global Equity Focus List”; UBS assigns the stock a 3% weight. On July 15 Kuaishou bought 445,000 of its own shares for about HK$19.89 million, continuing a buyback program to support the share price.
