Mondi has reappointed PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as its auditor following a formal tendering process. The reappointment is due to take effect for the 2027 financial year, subject to shareholder approval at the 2027 annual general meeting. The decision follows UK rules on auditor rotation; PwC was first appointed in 2017. At the general meeting, Mondi encountered a 21.54% majority of votes against the authorization to issue shares without a prior pre-emptive offer. The opposition came mainly from the South African share register, although the resolution was passed with 78.46% and the authorization is limited to 5% of issued capital. Mondi Finance has accepted buybacks of bonds with a nominal value of €320.61m (around 53.4% of the issue) from the €600m bond (1.625%, maturing April 2026), paying 99.75% of nominal plus accrued interest. Settlement is scheduled for 28 October, after which about €279.39m will remain outstanding.
