The board of United Bankshares declared a quarterly dividend of $0.38 per share with a record date of Sept. 11, 2026 and payment on Oct. 1, 2026; the distribution amounts to about $51.8 million. The company also approved a new share repurchase program to acquire up to 6.8 million shares (roughly 5% of outstanding common stock), replacing the November 2025 plan and to be executed flexibly.
