ELAC SONAR, Cohort's German subsidiary, was selected by Saab as the supplier of integrated sonar systems for Poland's Orka submarine programme. The contract is worth €140.7m, work begins immediately and deliveries are planned through the mid-2030s; the contract is expected to have a positive impact on adjusted earnings per share from the next financial year. Cohort reported adjusted earnings per share of £0.62, beating analysts’ expectation of £0.60, with revenue up 13% mainly thanks to the Communications and Intelligence division. Pre-tax profit of £32.60m was below the consensus of £34.51m, while basic earnings per share were £0.52. Revenue growth was driven by increased exports to NATO countries (Europe, Australia, Germany); the Sensors and Effectors division saw flat revenue and lower profit.
