Daimler Truck has handed over the first 27 fully electric eActros 600 to Amazon and plans more than 50 deliveries by year-end as well as a small series of 100 hydrogen vehicles from late 2026. A new US greenfield plant is also planned (construction start end of 2026, production from 2029). Despite operational progress and an increased EBIT forecast, Morgan Stanley and Bernstein have downgraded their assessments, while the analyst consensus still remains predominantly "buy". CEO Karin Rådström says Daimler Truck will invest several hundred million euros in hydrogen trucks by the end of the decade. The group continues to pursue a dual strategy of battery and hydrogen propulsion to position itself for long-range applications and short refuelling times. An analysis by Transport & Environment warns that Daimler Truck and other European manufacturers could lose up to a quarter of the European e-truck market to Chinese and US competitors by 2030. T&E sees a total-cost-of-ownership advantage of up to 12 percent for Chinese models and real price gaps of up to about €95,000 per vehicle, supported by lower battery cell prices.
