Infineon falls sharply after debate on AI safety

Infineon in joint project: shell of TSMC chip factory in Dresden completed

In the joint project of TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, the shell of the new microchip factory in Dresden has been finished and celebrated with a topping-out ceremony. TSMC holds 70 percent and the partners 10 percent each; the total investment is €10 billion, of which €5 billion comes as federal funding. Infineon poised for comeback after AI record quarter, but valuation carries risk

Infineon reported record revenue of €4.17 billion in the third quarter, driven by strong growth in AI datacenter components, and raised its operating segment margin to 19.1 percent. Analysts remain mostly optimistic and see price targets between roughly €85 and €100, expecting sustained investment levels in the semiconductor industry. At the same time, the stock is significantly pricier after the rally, and the recovery depends heavily on the ongoing AI cycle and a stabilization of the automotive business, making a setback possible if demand weakens.
