  • BKW takes over Öhringen-Karlsfurt wind farm and increases onshore wind capacity in Germany

BKW buys the Öhringen-Karlsfurt wind farm from ABO Energy, increasing its onshore wind capacity in Germany by 33.6 MW to about 217 MW. The park comprises seven turbines of 4.8 MW each, is scheduled to start operations in Q1 2027 and is expected to produce more than 80 GWh per year. Power sales are secured long-term under the German Renewable Energy Act; construction work has been under way since Q2 2025. BKW shares fell temporarily by 0.26 percent to CHF 117.20. » More on finanzen.net

  • BKW falls after half-year results on weaker operating metrics and cautious outlook

BKW shares dropped 1.1% to CHF 130 after the company reported weaker operating metrics for H1 2026: revenue fell 3.1% to CHF 2.18 billion, EBITDA declined 10.1% to CHF 387.9 million and EBIT fell 15.1% to CHF 263.7 million. Net profit rose 7.0% to CHF 217.6 million, mainly due to a contribution from the Mühleberg nuclear power plant rather than a broad operational recovery. Management confirmed the outlook at the lower end of the range, heightening concerns about earnings momentum and keeping the stock close to its 52-week low. » More on de.investing.com

  • BKW cuts basic supply tariffs again and introduces dynamic grid-usage tariff

BKW is reducing electricity prices in the basic supply again from 2027; a typical four-person household saves about 7.6 percent — for 4,500 kWh roughly CHF 7.90 per month or CHF 95 per year. Actual savings depend on consumption behavior. From early 2027, BKW will also voluntarily offer a dynamic grid-usage tariff that grants discounts on sunny summer afternoons to encourage consumption when photovoltaic production is high. BKW shares were at one point down 0.45 percent at CHF 130.80. » More on finanzen.net
