EuroStoxx 50 stabilizes after losses, Publicis drives media sector
The EuroStoxx 50 rose 0.32% to stabilize at 6,382.59 points. Support came from comments by Fed governor Christopher Waller on waning inflation in the US, while trading remained cautious due to the situation in the Middle East and upcoming US jobs data. The strongest sector was media, led by Publicis after a multi-billion-euro contract from PepsiCo; luxury names such as LVMH, Hermès and EssilorLuxottica fell sharply on weak signals from China and a stronger yen. » More on finanzen.net
Publicis drives media stocks higher – European markets slip slightly
European stock markets were slightly down on Thursday, with the EuroStoxx 50 falling 0.26 percent to 6,345.84 points. Weaker purchasing managers' indices from Europe and uncertainty ahead of US jobs data dampened sentiment. Publicis rose 3.5 percent after a multi-billion-euro contract from PepsiCo, while Omnicom came under pressure after losing the pitch. Luxury names such as LVMH and Hermès, as well as oil shares, declined after signals from China and falling oil prices weighed on the market. » More on finanzen.net
