Red Cat to acquire Steyr Motors and expand in unmanned military boats

Completion of the transaction depends on approval from Austrian authorities in Vienna. » More on welt.de
Red Cat offers €39 per share for Steyr Motors
US drone specialist Red Cat has submitted a binding cash offer of €39 per share for Steyr Motors, a premium of 28.9% to the Xetra closing price on 16 October. Major shareholders such as B&C Holding (around 15%) and CEO Julian Cassutti have announced their intention to tender; the acceptance period runs until 18 December 2026. Red Cat aims to complete the deal in the first half of 2027 but requires at least 50% plus one share and several regulatory approvals, so the offer still carries risk. If the takeover fails, the share could fall well below the current offer (indicative pre-offer price level: around €30.25). » More on deraktionaer.de
Red Cat benefits from US tariffs on drones, stock notably up premarket
Red Cat’s stock rose 7.1% premarket after a presidential proclamation imposing tariffs of up to 100% on imported military drones and critical components (main customs effective September 3, 2026). As a US manufacturer of defense drones, Red Cat is likely to gain from the competitive disadvantage of foreign suppliers. The company also reported Q2 2026 revenue up 527% to $20.19 million, reaffirmed its full-year forecast of $150–180 million, and reported cash of $325.6 million; several analysts reiterated buy ratings. » More on de.investing.com
