Lockheed Martin presents Germany's first F-35A, expanding European franchise
Lockheed Martin unveiled Germany's first F-35A at its production facility, marking progress in a program where Germany plans 35 aircraft and the first jets are due in-country in late 2027. Initial training deliveries of eight aircraft will go to Ebbing ANGB in Arkansas this fall, and the program could generate long-term revenue across production, training and sustainment while deepening European industrial participation. Key risks include schedule slippage, supply-chain and infrastructure delays and potential changes to Germany's defense spending that could affect Lockheed's order backlog. » More on finance.yahoo.com
Lockheed Martin delivers F-35 to Bundeswehr: deterrence to be strengthened
Defence Minister Boris Pistorius presented the first of 35 ordered F-35s in Fort Worth, calling the stealth aircraft a decisive strengthening of deterrence against Russia. The federal government is investing around ten billion euros; the jets are to replace the Tornado fleet and be used for nuclear sharing. The first six aircraft are to be delivered later this year, all by 2029; training in the USA has already begun, and Rheinmetall is producing mid-fuselage parts. Criticisms remain: high maintenance costs, low availability in parts of the fleet and concerns about software dependencies; additionally, the Büchel base is being expanded at a cost of two billion euros. » More on finanzen.net
