China Gold International Resources rises after announcement of index inclusion
Shares of China Gold International Resources climbed 3.3% to HK$263.2 after the company said it would be added to the Hang Seng High Beta Index and the Hang Seng SCHK Central SOEs Quality Index from 7 September 2026. Index inclusions are likely to trigger increased purchases by passive funds ahead of the effective date. China Gold gains after H1 profit jumps 153%
China Gold's stock rose sharply on Friday, climbing 12.9% to HK$211.4 after the company reported a first-half net profit attributable to shareholders of about US$507m (up 153% year-on-year) and revenue of roughly US$914m (up 58%). Drivers were significantly higher realized commodity prices, including an average gold price at the CSH mine of about US$4,703/oz (up 52%) and an average copper price at the Jiama mine of around US$4.66/lb (up 73%). The board also approved further development of the long-term plan for the polymetallic Jiama copper mine, signalling additional positive prospects.
