Israel Discount Bank presents strong 2025 annual results, shares fall after weak Q4

Israel Discount Bank reported a net profit of 4.14 billion shekels for 2025 and a ROE of 12.6% (adjusted 13.7%). Loan volume grew 7.9% to 292.5 billion shekels with improved asset quality (problem loans 1.85%, non-performing 0.7%) and declining cost ratios. The fourth quarter weakened quarterly ROE to 10.2% due to inflation-related effects, early-retirement costs at Mercantile and headwinds at IDB New York, after which the share price fell about 6.4%. Israel Discount Bank posted a net profit of 1.13 billion ILS in the third quarter of 2025 and a return on equity of 13.7%. Operating expenses fell 3.8% quarter‑on‑quarter and loan volume grew 3.4% quarter‑on‑quarter (8.9% year‑on‑year). The bank continues to focus on lending to SMEs and corporate clients, aims to improve cost efficiency and plans a payout ratio of 50%.
