PayPal: payments for tuition via PayPal and Venmo launched at US colleges
PayPal has launched integrations with education payment platforms Illumia, Nelnet Campus Commerce and TouchNet, enabling students at several US universities to pay tuition and other fees using PayPal or Venmo. The option is already available at schools such as Bellarmine, Butler, Kansas State, Michigan State and Texas Tech and will be rolled out to more institutions later in the year. According to media reports, PayPal is in talks with payments provider Stripe and private equity firm Advent about a possible takeover and is negotiating a higher price after an offer of $60.50 per share was rejected.
