London Stock Exchange faces further departures as three firms agree takeover deals
Three more London-listed companies will leave the market after takeover agreements: Bodycote agreed a £1.84bn bid from Veritas, Gamma Communications recommended a £1.1bn offer from Epiris, and Capricorn accepted a $396m offer from DNO. The transactions push the total value of deals removing companies from the London Stock Exchange this year past $100bn, intensifying pressure on the market amid a broader wave of buyouts. London Stock Exchange raises forecast and announces buybacks, shares fall
After a strong first half, London Stock Exchange raised its adjusted revenue guidance to a 7–7.5% increase and is targeting an adjusted EBITDA margin one percentage point higher. Operating revenues rose, on an adjusted basis, 8.4% in the first half to just under £4.8bn; adjusted operating profit increased 14% to around £2.5bn and the margin climbed to 52.7%. London Stock Exchange Group plans near-continuous trading with platform LSE 24
The London Stock Exchange Group plans to enable almost continuous trading from Monday to Friday with the new platform LSE 24, aiming to provide international investors across time zones with greater flexibility and liquidity. LSE 24 will be operated separately from the main market, whose trading hours will remain unchanged.
