S&P Global focuses on growth, margins and AI push at Barclays conference
At the Barclays Global Financial Services Conference, S&P Global presented its strategy to accelerate revenue growth and expand margins, supported by cross‑selling, productivity gains and rising demand for data. Market Intelligence is driving growth, aided by increased AI interfaces, API usage and new sales structures for top clients, while AI monetization is still developing. The energy business grew more slowly than expected, but management expects a recovery in the second half of the year and is targeting mid‑term growth of 6–8%. S&P Global does not plan large acquisitions, prefers targeted small bolt‑on deals, divesting non‑core assets and expects continued margin expansion of 50–75 basis points. » More on de.investing.com
S&P Global invests in crypto data provider Kaiko
S&P Global, via S&P Global Ventures, invested in Kaiko and expanded the Series B funding round. The stake deepens an existing partnership: S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko had already tokenized the iBoxx U.S. Treasuries Index and launched the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices. Kaiko provides market data, indices and data infrastructure for digital assets and serves more than 250 financial firms, institutions and regulators; financial details of the investment were not disclosed. The transaction follows Kaiko’s acquisitions of Amberdata and Cometh and complements S&P Global’s expansion in digital assets. » More on de.investing.com
S&P Global weighing spin-off of Capital IQ Pro as shares rise
According to a Bloomberg report, S&P Global is examining a possible spin-off of the data and research platform Capital IQ Pro, which could be valued in the high single-digit billions. Options range from an initial public offering (IPO) to other structural measures; the considerations are at an early stage and no decision has been made. Capital IQ Pro is part of the Market Intelligence division, provides data on more than 60 million non‑public companies and would compete directly with providers such as FactSet and the data division of the London Stock Exchange. » More on de.investing.com
